Reed Construction Data (RCD) announced today that the year-to-date value of construction starts through April 2010, excluding residential contracts, totaled $82.7 billion, 11.0% more than in the same months of 2009. Individual month of April starts were 6.6% higher than March starts. This was just a little short of the usual seasonal gain in April. So April has to be interpreted as approximately steady with March.
